2. Booking and Confirmation

A lesson, course or other service is considered booked once the booking has been confirmed by Salih Driving School.

When making a booking, you are responsible for providing accurate contact and booking information.

We reserve the right to decline or cancel a booking where:

  • The requested service is unavailable.
  • The learner does not meet the relevant requirements.
  • The learner provides incorrect or misleading information.
  • Payment has not been received where payment is required in advance.
  • We are unable to provide the service for operational or safety reasons.

3. Payment

Payment must be made in accordance with the price and payment arrangements applicable to the service booked.

Unless otherwise agreed:

  • Lessons must be paid for before or at the time of the lesson.
  • Packages must be paid for in accordance with the agreed package terms.
  • Intensive courses may require payment in advance to secure the booking.
  • Any outstanding balance must be settled before further lessons or services are provided.

Prices displayed on the website are subject to change. The price applicable to an existing confirmed booking will normally remain as agreed at the time of booking.

4. Driving Licence and Legal Requirements

The learner must hold a valid provisional or full driving licence appropriate for the training being undertaken.

Learners are responsible for informing Salih Driving School of any relevant restrictions, endorsements, medical conditions or other circumstances that may affect their ability to drive safely or legally.

We may refuse to provide a lesson if we reasonably believe that the learner is not legally permitted or medically fit to drive.

5. Driving Lessons

Lessons will normally begin and finish at the agreed location and time.

Learners are expected to:

  • Arrive on time.
  • Bring their driving licence or other required documentation where applicable.
  • Wear suitable footwear and clothing.
  • Follow the instructor’s safety instructions.
  • Behave respectfully towards the instructor.
  • Inform the instructor of any relevant circumstances that may affect the lesson.

Late arrival by a learner may reduce the available lesson time. The instructor will generally not be required to extend the lesson to compensate for the learner’s late arrival.

6. Cancellation and Rescheduling

We understand that circumstances can change. If you need to cancel or reschedule a lesson, reasonable notice should be provided.

Where sufficient notice is not provided, the lesson may be treated as cancelled and the lesson fee may be charged.

Exceptions may be considered at the discretion of Salih Driving School in genuine emergencies or exceptional circumstances.

If Salih Driving School needs to cancel or reschedule a lesson, we will make reasonable efforts to provide an alternative date or time.

7. Instructor Availability

Lessons are subject to instructor availability.

Salih Driving School may allocate or change an instructor where necessary due to availability, illness, holidays, operational requirements or other circumstances.

Where reasonably possible, we will inform the learner of any changes in advance.

8. Vehicle Use and Safety

Training vehicles are maintained and used in accordance with applicable legal and safety requirements.

The instructor may terminate or postpone a lesson where continuing the lesson would create an unreasonable safety risk.

Examples may include:

  • Unsafe weather or road conditions.
  • Vehicle defects.
  • Learner behaviour that creates a safety risk.
  • Learner impairment through alcohol, drugs or medication.
  • Any other circumstance that makes driving unsafe.

No refund or replacement lesson will necessarily be provided where a lesson has to be stopped because of the learner’s unsafe behaviour or failure to comply with the instructor’s reasonable safety instructions.

9. Alcohol, Drugs and Impairment

Learners must not attend a driving lesson while under the influence of alcohol, illegal drugs or any substance that may impair their ability to drive safely.

If an instructor reasonably believes that a learner is impaired, the lesson may be cancelled immediately.

The learner may remain responsible for the full lesson fee.

10. Driving Tests

Salih Driving School can provide training and, where agreed, vehicle hire for practical driving tests.

However, we cannot guarantee that a learner will pass a driving test.

The availability and timing of driving tests are determined by the DVSA and are outside our control.

Any test date, time or location arranged through or discussed with Salih Driving School remains subject to availability and confirmation.

11. Test Car Hire

Where test-car hire is booked, the vehicle will be made available for the agreed driving test subject to the learner meeting the relevant requirements.

The learner must:

  • Have the necessary licence and test eligibility.
  • Follow the instructor’s instructions.
  • Arrive at the agreed location on time.
  • Meet any requirements communicated before the test.

If the learner is unable to take the test because of their own actions or failure to meet DVSA requirements, the test-car hire fee may still be payable.

12. Mock Driving Tests

Mock tests are intended to provide learners with an assessment of their driving skills and preparation for the practical driving test.

A mock test is not an official DVSA test and does not guarantee a particular result in an actual driving test.

The instructor’s assessment is based on the learner’s performance during the mock test.

13. Intensive Driving Courses

Intensive driving courses are structured according to the learner’s existing driving ability, available training time and the agreed course programme.

The number of hours required to reach test standard varies between learners.

Booking an intensive course does not guarantee:

  • Passing the driving test.
  • A particular number of faults.
  • A particular test result.
  • A particular test date unless specifically confirmed.
  • That the learner will reach test standard within the booked number of hours.

Additional lessons may be recommended where the instructor considers them necessary for safe and competent driving.

14. Driving Lesson Packages

Package hours must normally be used within the period agreed at the time of purchase.

Package lessons are intended for the learner named on the booking and may not be transferred to another person unless agreed by Salih Driving School.

Package lessons may be subject to the same cancellation and rescheduling requirements as individual lessons.

Unused package hours may not automatically be refundable. Any refund request will be considered in accordance with the circumstances and applicable consumer rights.

15. Lesson Progress and Passing Standard

Every learner progresses at a different rate.

The instructor will provide guidance and recommendations based on the learner’s performance.

The instructor may recommend additional lessons where further training is required to achieve a safe and appropriate driving standard.

No guarantee is given regarding:

  • The number of lessons required.
  • The time required to become test-ready.
  • The number of attempts required to pass.
  • The outcome of a driving test.

16. Learner Conduct

Learners are expected to treat instructors, staff and other road users with respect.

Abusive, threatening, discriminatory or inappropriate behaviour will not be tolerated.

Salih Driving School reserves the right to terminate a lesson, course or customer relationship where serious or repeated inappropriate behaviour occurs.

17. Personal Belongings

Learners are responsible for their own personal belongings brought into the training vehicle.

Salih Driving School will not normally be responsible for loss or damage to personal belongings unless caused by circumstances for which we are legally responsible.

18. Photography, Video and Recording

Learners must not photograph, video or audio-record an instructor during a lesson without prior permission.

Similarly, Salih Driving School will obtain appropriate permission before using identifiable learner photographs, videos or testimonials for marketing purposes where required.

Salih Driving School is not responsible for delays, cancellations, technical issues or decisions made by third-party organisations that are outside our control.

22. Refunds

Refund requests will be considered based on the service purchased, the circumstances of the request and applicable consumer protection legislation.

Where a service has already been provided, a refund will not normally be available for that completed service except where required by law or otherwise agreed by Salih Driving School.

Any applicable cancellation charges or reasonable costs may be deducted from a refund where permitted.

23. Limitation of Liability

Nothing in these Terms and Conditions excludes or limits any liability that cannot legally be excluded or limited.

Subject to applicable law, Salih Driving School will not be responsible for losses arising from circumstances beyond our reasonable control, including road closures, severe weather, traffic disruption, vehicle breakdown, DVSA cancellations or changes, instructor illness or other unforeseen circumstances.

24. Events Outside Our Control

We will not be liable for failure or delay in providing a service where this is caused by circumstances beyond our reasonable control.

Such circumstances may include:

  • Severe weather.
  • Road closures.
  • Traffic incidents.
  • Vehicle breakdown.
  • Instructor illness.
  • Government restrictions.
  • DVSA cancellations or changes.
  • Technical failures.
  • Other unforeseen circumstances.

Where reasonably possible, we will offer an alternative lesson or arrangement.
